Tonight, Linlithgow hosted the 2012 West Lothian Competition at Springfield Community Center, Linlithgow
Tonight’s judge John Simpson, gave a great appraisal of the colour, monochrome and digital images from the 4 clubs.
His comments providing many useful tips, which I’m sure will be taken on board for the future.

Today was the East/West Lothian & Borders Inter Club Battle at the Mining Museum, Newtongrange
The standard was extremely high, with some brilliant photos – we did earn quite a few 17s

For a bit of fun, we asked members to bring in old slides and films to scan and convert them to digital images.
Although not competition standard, the results were reasonable after a bit of tweaking in Photoshop – good enough, at least, to bring back some fond memories.
The scanner used was Traveler TV6500 Film Scanner, purchased from Aldi.
Capture software included with the scanner is PhotoImpression 6
